Day 5 - Enköping

U 778 - Svinnegarn

Jul 4, 2021

This runestone is incorporated into the wall of the inside of the porch of the Svinnegarn church.

The original position of the runestone is not known. The runemaster who carved it was Äskil.

This was the last runestone of the day, and I couldn’t get to it as it was locked inside the church.

“Tjälve and Holmlög had all of these stones raised in memory of Banke, their son, who alone owned a ship and steered to the east in Ingvarr’s retinue. May God help Banke’s spirit. Äskil carved.”
